Elkee
Biography
The band Elkee was created by its five members in 2003 out of a simple desire for rock, but was also conceived as a project of renewal and experimentation. The raw power of rock combined with electronic sounds and atmospheres contributes to much of the intensity of Elkee’s hypnotic and ethereal sonic signature. Highly evocative, the band’s lyrics and music draw upon different personal experiences and musical influences and constitute a powerful emotional release for both the musicians and their public.
Since the release of their first album Phosphene, Elkee has continued to grow and evolve. The songs Rooted in the Earth and Sons of Mars were regularly played on several radio stations (Radio Paradiso -RSR, Repérage and Plus de bruit on Couleur 3 , as well as various European stations). The band had also gained a lot of live experience, thanks to their many venues at Swiss and European festivals (Eurockéennes de Belfort, Paléo Festival de Nyon, Festival de la Cité Lausanne, Festival de Jazz de Montreux, Festival de Jazz de Cully).
Their promising new album « The beautiful unknown » will be out on the 29th of May 2009.
